What is industrial TELEVISION?
| Why, it's the greatest show on cable access TV (some would argue the greatest show on all cable telelvision!) Created by the 2droogies in 1996, industrial TELEVISION features many underground bizarre film & video from around the world. Old training films, bad-"Z-grade movies"...exploitation, sex, animation, stripper loops, music videos, commercials, drive-in ads, kung-fu, unseen news footage, sex...(we like sex)...All filtered and re-edited by the discerning eyes and ears of the 2droogies (Ed V. & Brian P.) Clips are interspersed every few minutes with reactions to the material, sort of a running "visual commentary" by the 2droogies. (boy- that was some long-winded, technical bullshit explanation, eh?) |
Where does industrial TELEVISION play?
| industrial TELEVISIONplays every Saturday night late at midnight on CTV (channel 34 here on Staten Island)...and every 2-3 months on MNN in Manhattan (whenever I get some episodes to them!) |
I don't get cable, how can I see it?
| We are offering 2 FREE EPISODES (of our choosing) on VHS!!! Just send us $4.00 ($8.00 overseas) postage & handling charge. See "free tape offer" on the industrial store/iT stuff page. |
Where the fuck do you guys find this shit?
| Probably THE most asked question is "where do you guys come up with this shit?" 1st off, check the end of each episode, dummy!...we list the sources at the end of every show. Where else do we find this stuff?... the 2DROOGIES archives, that’s where! I’ve been collecting obscure videos since ‘81... Bri since about ‘84...some tapes are even on Beta format!... HE WHO SEEKS, FINDS!!!!...between the two collections we have approximately 4-5,000 hours of material. As for obtaining some of the more recent, obscure stuff, look to companies like: something weird, prelinger archives, shocking video, cult epics, Kino, alpha blue archives, amongst others...check our "links" page for more sources. |
How can I find some of the rare videos you feature?
| Hey, like I said-he who seeks, finds! "A SICK MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE!" many of the titles we feature (plus a lot of the inserts we stick in...) are from videos that are no longer in print. You know, they were issued back in the 80’s, the company folded, and they have never been re-issued. Another good place to find lots of great shit is at any of the horror / science fiction conventions that are held locally. (chiller theatre, fangoria, etc.) Many vendor tables are set up selling all sorts of vids - with mucho bargains to be had if you haggle! |
What's "2droogies" mean...what's a droogie, anyway?
| No, it has nothing to do with drugs, nor is it slang for 'the two druggies"..."Droogie" is a term from the movie "Clockwork Orange." In the flick, "droogie" simply means friend, co-hort, or fellow gang member. Except for Stanley Kubrick, the 2droogies (Ed & Bri) have seen this movie more times than any other living persons on the face of the earth. Christ, I remember seeing this film over 23 times in actual theaters before the video release!!! |
What makes industrial TELEVISION the most innovative show on S.I.?
We've always
prided ourselves as being prime innovators, not abject imitators here at staten
island comunity television...
(not very hard to do, considering the dismal, uninspired
content on the fuckin' channel!)
To the best of our knowledge,
we were the first locally produced show to:
|
Utilize the 3D animation
program at CTV... |
Why do you call yourselves "the most popular show on SICTV?"
|
No brag, just
fact. If you doubt us, simply ask around! The former outreach director
of CTV conducted a survey at the Staten Island mall a few years ago, and
reported that 6% of all viewers questioned noted industrial TELEVISION
as the only one they watch regularly. Recent interviews with other
CTV personnel revealed iTv as the most asked about show on the
channel. Our web stats show that when iTv airs, the "hits" go
way up during those hours.
